Aside from Old Fashioneds, bourbon sours are probably my favorite kind of drink. I’ve only ever had them at a bar or when Jack’s made them but I’m still a little surprised that I didn’t figure them out until now. They’re so easy!

You need:

bourbon/whisky/Midori
sugar (I like powdered as it mixes in easier)
lemons (the sours I’ve had a bars used sour mix, you could go this route – you won’t need sugar if you do – but it isn’t as good)
cocktail shaking implement of your choice

Use a 3 – 2 – 1 ratio:

3 parts liqour
2 parts lemon juice (I used lemon & lime juice)
1 part sugar

Mix it in a cocktail mixer with ice, strain and serve in a frosted glass. Viola! The perfect sweet/sour drink. Just don’t use the bottom of a plastic Easter egg to measure the parts, they hold a LOT more than you realize.
